About_

As part of the Bauhaus Spring School 2022, the course BodySpace – SpaceBody, developed and led by Dr. Luise Nerlich (Bauhaus-Universität Weimar) and spatial designer Manolis Iliakis (Athens), invited international students from various disciplines to explore space as an extension of the body. Through lectures, discussions, and physical exercises, the participants were introduced to ways of perceiving and understanding architecture beyond the visual while using all senses and bodily awareness as design tools.

Within this framework, I led the two-day workshop Feel the Rhythm, focusing on the relationship between space, body, and time. Using a self-designed workbook, participants explored spatial rhythms individually and collectively. They mapped places of stillness, documented sensory impressions, and translated their discoveries into short group performances. The process emphasized choreography as a method of spatial storytelling and encouraged a playful yet reflective engagement with architecture.
Through interdisciplinary collaboration and sensory-based methods, students created performative spatial concepts grounded in physical awareness and collective exploration.
